Due to continuous growth across the business, a Senior Mining Engineer is sought to join our Group Technical Team based at our Christchurch Head Office. 

As a senior member of this team, your key responsibilities will be to project manage and undertake studies associated with opencast prospects including mine design, planning/ scheduling, infrastructure and coal processing/handling studies (from conceptual level through to feasibility level); reviewing major opencast projects to ensure design, plans and operating/capital costs are appropriate; and assist with the development of standards and guidelines where required.

With a tertiary qualification in B or M Mining Engineering (or related tertiary qualification), your education combined with your practical coal or related industry experience will see you as a preferred candidate. Specific Mine Planning and scheduling software (Vulcan) experience, Project Management and financial analysis experience is also a key requirement along with your skills to build relationships with staff, operational sites and clients alike.
